Husband orchestrated an impromptu adventure day for us for my Birthday a couple Sundays ago which ended with us getting a last minute reservation at The Butcher’s Tale in Minneapolis… the perfect end to the day!
Snacks:

Wild Mushrooms: Taleggio Truffle Fondue, and Chives
These mushrooms were dreamy. The truffle fondue was something I’d never had before and something I can’t wait to experience again.

16oz Australian A5 Wagyu Ribeye: Chimchurri
Due to the price I’d consider this an aspirational vs. attainable cut of meat haha. Husband decided it was a “when in Rome” situation and splurged to experience it. He didn’t regret it.

8oz Grilled Hanger Steak: Smoked Bleu Cheese Butter, Candied Walnuts, Aged Balsamic, and Watercress
My steak was cooked perfectly. I didn’t love the extra stuff along with it, but I think that’s just because I’m not a super big fan of bleu cheese.

Sour Cream & Chive Mash
I kid you not when I say these were the best thing I’ve had in a long time. The mashed potatoes are dangerous they’re so good.
Drinks:

English Cucumber: Fords Gin, St. Elder Elderflower, Lemon, Cucumber Water, Honey Simple Syrup, and Cucumber Slices
I love a gin cocktail in the summer. Very refreshing.

Espresso Martini
There isn’t an espresso martini I don’t like and I was so pleased that their version actually tastes like espresso vs. the chocolatey ones many restaurants try to pass off as the real thing.
Old Fashioned
Husband got an old fashioned, of course. He was a fan.
Atmosphere/Service:

I loved the experience and the food was delicious. Due to the price point, I’ll be transparent and say that this is more of a special occasion spot for us, but it truthfully was the cherry on top of an already great birthday.
