Pickled Pink in Portland- The Food Chronicles

Besaws Pickled

It all started at Fireside when I saw a “pickle plate” on the menu. Having a mother who cans her own pickles, I was often able to use the vinegar and dill soaked home made gold, as a bartering chip to secure my after bar popularity in college…thanks Rhonda!

However, when the plate arrived, it wasn’t pickles, but instead a variety of pickled objects…some of which we were unable to identify. From that point forward, we started to pay attention to the frequency in which “pickled” was on the menu. Which was more often than you’d think!

Drunk in Portland

Deschute's Brewery Portland

I had some of the best drinks of my life in Portland. From gluten-free beer to craft cocktails, Portland appears to be a hub of liquid exploration.

In an attempt to right my wrong and in the name of research, I decided to “take one for the team” and I may or may not have gone back and ordered two more flavors only to succumb to ice cream trance deja vu and leave, once again, with a full belly and an empty camera roll.

Basically, what I’m saying is that these ice cream photos are from Salt & Straw’s website and I’m sorry if you feel betrayed, but i mean….it’s ice cream…that’s a judgement free zone, right? Continue reading

Voodoo Doughnut – Portland

Voodoo Doughnut

There didn’t seem to be any better way to jump start my reviews from my amazing Portland, Oregon trip than the rave-worthy Voodoo Doughnut.

A couple months ago I saw a photo on Instagram that immediately incited my desire and set my mouth watering.

When I found out these delectable aperitifs hailed from Portland it became the one MUST DO thing on our girls trip.
