We stumbled upon A Side Public House through a google search of brunch spots in Saint Paul and I have to admit I was surprised I had never heard of this restaurant before. After a quick look at the menu I knew they were right up our alley so off we went. When we arrived I was excited to find out that the venue is an old fire station! Get all the details
Snacks:

Shirred Eggs: 2 eggs baked in a prosciutto lined dish with cream, fontina & gruyere. Served with toast and greens
I had never had shirred eggs before so I was really excited to see it on the menu. Plus when you add in prosciutto and 2 kinds of cheese into the mix it it was an obvious home run. This was absolutely delicious to the point where husband tried to get me to trade haha.

Eggs Benedict: 2 poached eggs, English muffin, ham, hollandaise. Served with hash browns
Eggs Benedict is husband’s go-to breakfast/brunch food. His feedback was that it was cooked to perfection and delicious.
The hash browns were also really good. They were crispy perfection.
Drinks:

Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary – Traditional: Smirnoff vodka, Tanqueray gin, Tattersall aquavit and Ketel One
I got the Bloody Mary (traditional, because I’m a spice baby of course). I am excited to try out the Pumpkin Espresso Martini though, so we’ll definitely have to go back for dinner.
Atmosphere/Service:

Like I shared previously, the restaurant is in an old 1885 St. Paul Firehouse which was active until 2010. In addition to the restaurant they have a coffee bar and even a rentable party space upstairs.

Our server was great and it was overall a great experience. Definitely recommend.
