I’ve been wanting to go to Billy Sushi for a while so I was so excited when my friend suggested we head there for dinner and it felt meant to be when we lucked out with parking outside AND seats at the bar!
Snacks:

Yuzu Tuna: Japanese citrus with hon maguro
Gyoza: Deep-fried chicken dumplings
We started out with a couple starters. My friend, Mikayla, highly recommended the Yuzu Tuna and I can’t resist a fried dumpling so we had both.

The dumplings were as expected (really good) and the tuna was phenomenal. Just look at how beautiful that looks up close.

Double D: Spicy salmon, snow crab, cucumbers topped with hon maguro and white tuna, thin slice of jalapeño & sriracha sauce
Naughty Ninja: Yellowtail, tuna, white tuna & avocado wrapped with red and black tobiko, unagi sauce, spicy aioli and tempura flakes
The menu was pretty large and it was hard to pick, but luckily, Mikayla had a couple favorites that ended up being so good.

The Double D roll had a nice kick with the jalapeno, but it wasn’t too hot even for a spice baby like me.
With the Naughty Ninja, I was obsessed with how the roll looked in general, just the black to red transition was beautiful and you can tell the effort put in by the chefs. I also thought the tobiko (Japanese delicacy of small, crunchy fish eggs) had a fun texture to add…and that is coming from a girl that thought she’d never eat fish eggs!
Drinks:

Raspberry Beret: Tito’s Vodka, Oka Yuzu Liqueur, raspberry puree, lemon juice
The Best Time: Cucumber-infused Roku Gin, lime juice, club soda, topped with a scarlet tea simple syrup
I had to Raspberry Beret and I really like the tartness mixed with the raspberry. Mikayla had The Best Time which was really crisp and refreshing.
In addition to their craft cocktails menu, they also have a wide array of sakes, japanese whiskey, and wine.
Atmosphere/Service:

I’ve been following Billy Sushi on Instagram for a while now, so I already knew they had a playful and very “on trend” personality. The menu proved it with the pop culture inspired drink and roll names as well as the sassy recipe descriptions.
This is definitely a place you want a reservation unless you are ready to roll the dice like us and try your luck at a first come, first serve bar spot!
10/10 I would go back again, because there are so many other rolls I want to try…plus I definitely want to check out their speakeasy, Billy After Dark (B.A.D).
