A friend recently had a birthday and to celebrate we had a night of sushi, espresso martinis, and adventure…all of my favorite things!
If you haven’t been to Cobble Social House in North Loop Minneapolis, definitely add it to your list. Full review below.
Food:

Edamame: black garlic oil, togarashi, sea salt
Together we picked out three rolls to try and also had some edamame, which had the best flavoring.

Trinity Roll: tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, asparagus, yamagobo, shiso, chili-sesame oil, brush of tare
The trinity roll was my favorite of the three. Just all my comfort sushi ingredients in one.

Sunset Blvd Roll: spicy salmon, mango, yamagobo, cucumber, topped with spicy seared bluefin tuna, avocado, house-made tare, tobiko, shiso, ginger mango black garlic salsa
I really enjoyed the Sunset Blvd roll as well. Really good flavoring.

Beach House Roll: yellowtail, scallop, avocado, cucumber, cilantro, topped with house-made tare, ikura, lemon zest, chives
The beach house roll was my least favorite of the three, just because the citrus after taste was unexpected for me. Still really good, though!
They also serve rice bowls so if you’re not a huge sushi roll person there’s still something for you!
Drinks:

Espresso Martini: vodka, misfit cold press (mpls), amaro, demerara, brownie batter bitters
I am not usually someone that enjoys a chocolatey version of an espresso martini, but the brownie batter bitters adding such a subtlety and I may or may not have had two 🙂
We did also have some birthday bubbles and they also have a good selection of beer, wine, and sake (of course).
Atmosphere/Service:

The door to Cobble Social House is in an alley in the North Loop so it gives it a fun little speakeasy vibe. It’s also just really fun and eclectically decorated.

We had two servers that were taking turns checking on us so we never wanted for anything and the food was really good. I recommend going if you’re looking for a new sushi spot!
