We’ve been to Andiamo Italian Ristorante in Woodbury before and I swear I already wrote a Hipster Hack review, but I guess I was wrong, so here we go!
Snacks:

Bruschetta: Fresh tomato, red onion, basil, garlic, olive oil
The bruschetta wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, but that’s not an insult, because that just means that it was crafted correctly!

Ravioli: Cheese filled, marinara, romano, rosa with mushrooms added
I elected to add mushrooms to my ravioli which was definitely the right choice. I also went a bit outside of my comfort zone with the white vs. red sauce and it was really good.

Spaghetti Bolognese: Sheet pasta, bolognese, romano cream with shrimp added
Husband added shrimp to his spaghettin bolognese and was very happy that they used hearty REAL shrimp, versus the pathetic chopped up kinds we tend to see at other places.
Drinks:

Espresso Martini
This was actually not on the menu, but espresso was so I asked if it was possible and the bartender made my dreams come true! And since it was made with real espresso it actually tasted right instead of the places that say they can make it and use chocolate liqueur.
I’m just going to go ahead and suggest they add it to their menu, because yum and I think I can speak for every other millenial female and say if you craft it, we will come 😉
Atmosphere/Service:
We lucked out by getting the last walk in table they had available, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to go. They also have a second location in Eagan.
I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but they were definitely understaffed and it resulted in really long waits. Before I get into it, the food was REALLY good and I was very happy that the bartender was able to make me the espresso martini, so this is seriously only about staffing and we did find out at the end of our visit that one of the bartenders was unexpectedly out for the birth of their baby so it definitely explains it, but it doesn’t mean that the experience didn’t happen and I want to be honest.
We waited about 15 minutes before our server was able to come and greet us/take our drink orders. We then got our app AND our entrees before she came back and realized that our drinks were still not there. Midway through we put in our second drink order and it was a solid 20 minutes later after we had been sitting with our stacked, empty plates before she came back and realized that she forgot to put them in. She felt horrible and they comp’d the round (which we definitely didn’t ask for) so we looked at it as basically just having an alcohol dessert haha, but all in all it was not the best experience.
Our server was very sweet and they very clearly had good teamwork since the front of house was walking around filling water glasses, etc, but I would definitely recommend they seat less tables if they don’t have the staff to take care of it. We honestly would have understood if we were turned away to give priority to providing the guests that made reservations a better experience. However, I do understand that not everyone has that mentality or works in the food industry like my husband, so we did see a couple rude people, which made me feel worse for the staff.
We don’t often eat Italian, but it was really good and we will be back.
