This last Saturday I was lucky enough* to be invited to the Friends & Family pre-opening of Sweet Paris, the creperie and cafe, in Woodbury, Minnesota. The official Grand Opening is this Monday, October 23, 2023!

*By “lucky enough” I mean I harrassed my brother-in-law who happens to be the Area Manager to get invited hahaha.

Snacks:

The majority of their menu is made up of crepes, but they also have waffles, paninis, eggs, soups & salads, so there is really something for everyone.

The crepe menu is split into savory or sweet. Both husband and I are more “savory” people, but of course we also had to try out one of the sweet ones, too!

What you need to know (according to Wikipedia): A crêpe or crepe is a very thin type of pancake. Crêpes are usually one of two varieties: sweet crêpes or savoury galettes. They are often served with a wide variety of fillings such as cheese, fruit, vegetables, meats, and a variety of spreads. Crêpes can also be flambéed, such as in crêpes Suzette.

Ham & Gruyere Crepe: Smoked ham, gruyère, dijon mustard, fresh oregano, & béchamel sauce

The Ham & Gruyere was my pick, but it actually ended up being husband’s favorite so we switched halfway through haha. Don’t ever try to tell me I’m not a good wife 😉

Philly Cheesesteak: Ribeye steak, steakhouse provolone sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, onions, & bell peppers

I really enjoyed the Philly Cheesesteak. The crepe adds just enough breading without being as heavy as a sandwich.

S’mores: Nutella®, torched marshmallows, graham crackers, & semi-sweet chocolate drizzle

The s’mores crepe was the obvious choice for husband and I to split. However, I was also very tempted with the oreo one. The menu is chalk full of recipes to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Drinks:

Iced Mayan Chocolate: With whipped cream and chocolate drizzle

In addition to coffee they also serve hot & cold drinks, milkshakes, soda, and they also offer beer/cider, wine/champagne, and mimosas!

I’ll be going back to try out the different flavored mimosas, but I had a full afternoon agenda so I stuck with one of the NA drinks. I really enjoyed the iced Mayan Chocolate, but next time I will definitely be adding a shot of espresso. Yum.

Atmosphere/Service:

Sweet Paris is located in the Woodbury CityPlace shopping area which makes it super easy to get there and park, which is always a win.

The fast casual vibe and ordering ahead at the counter also adds to the cafe feel and allows you to get in and out on your own schedule.

Sidenote: I am obsessed with their chandelier and want one of my own.

Overall, I was very pleased and am excited to go back to try more options (I swear I mean it and it’s not just because my family works there 🤣)

I have my eye on the Chicken Enchilada crepe next 👀 .
