When I heard that a new concept, eM Que Viet, was being opened by the same families who own Que Viet Villages and the Que Viet Concession at the Minnesota State Fair, but with the added bonus of a full bar, I was all in. I was so excited to finally get there to check it out for my monthly friendship dinner and it definitely lived up to Que Viet’s reputation.

Egg Rolls

There is nothing I love more than a Que Viet egg roll and have discussed it ad nauseam through my State Fair reviews of the egg roll on a stick and through my full Que Viet Hipster Hack Review. These egg rolls have been blessing the stomachs of Minnesotans for over 40 years.

Pork with Fried Tofu Stir Fry

The menu is full of all the comforts; pho, lo mein, cho mein, egg fu young, and so many stir fry options. I ordered pork and fried tofu stir fry and it was delicious.

Drinks:

Naughty du Monde Espresso Martini: Vietnamese Drip Espresso, Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Liquor 43, Kahlua, egg white, and Godiva

Espresso martinis are my kryptonite and I was excited to try out their version with Vietnamese drip Espresso. Two thumbs up.

I loved that they also had a sober cocktail menu available for “dry January.”

“In Vietnamese, Em has many meanings depending on the different context. Em can be your younger brother or sister. Em can be a term of endearment from your husband. Em can mean a baby. And in this case, Em Que Viet, means both our baby and the younger sister to Que Viet. Whatever the meaning, It is all about family. We hope you grow to love Em as much as you love Que Viet. She’s not everything Que viet is. She’s the younger, trendy, sassy version and she is excited to grow up on St. Paul’s Grand Ave.”
