Angelina’s Kitchen in Woodbury was actually one of mine and husband’s first date night spots back when he was trying to impress me so it was fun to go back and revisit now after over 2 years of marriage.
Snacks:

Antipasto Plate: Cured Italian meats with Italian cheeses, olives, pepperoncini, roasted pepper and marinated artichoke hearts. Served with rustic crackers
Normally I’d have ordered the bruschetta as a starter, but neither of us were super hungry so we thought a little Italian style charcuterie would be a good idea. It also came with some bread and oil which was a nice addition.

Fusilli Pesto: Fusilli pasta tossed with basil pesto and a touch of cream, fresh spinach & cremini mushrooms
I really enjoyed my fusilli pesto pasta and it was something I wouldn’t normally gravitate to so I’m glad I went with my gut. Husband ordered the chicken parmesan which comes with two options; mild or spicy. Husband of course chose spicy.

Chicken Parmesan: Lightly breaded boneless chicken breast with marinara, mozzarella and parmesan served over spaghetti
One thing I thought was kind of funny about the menu was that they had two separate Mac & Cheese dishes. One was standard Italian mac and one was mac with spinach and mushrooms…when you know what your crowd likes I guess, eh? haha. The menu did seem to have something for everyone which I think for a suburban restaurant with families visiting is a good idea.
Drinks:

Espresso Martini: Vodka, Kahlua, Espresso
Husband opted for a wine he felt would pair well with his meal and I of course had to try their Espresso Martini. I’m not going to lie that Espresso Martinis made with Kahlua aren’t my favorite, but I was happy it had actual espresso in it!
They have a good selection of wines, cocktails, and liquor to choose from.
Atmosphere/Service:

To make a reservation you have to call. We were able to call at 5 and get in at 5:45pm on a Friday night, which I felt was great for Woodbury. However, I’m not sure if that is normal or abnormal.
Our server was friendly and as I said the food was good, but woof was the service slow. We watched a couple tables around us get seated after us and leave before us with just our appetizer taking 45 minutes from the time we were seated. Overall our dining experience took just under 2 hours and while I didn’t really mind that as it was a Friday night and nice to have a leisurely dinner, I assure you that we were ready everytime our server came to us and were not the hold up.

It’s unlikely we’ll become regulars, but I’d give the overall experience a B!
