This list is my favorite patios and outdoor dining spots in Saint Paul and the east side suburbs. I know that there are a lot of revered spots in Minneapolis and the west burbs also, but I spend most my time on this side of the Mississippi so I’m making a list true to me!
If you have a spot you absolutely love, please drop it in the comments!
*Also shout out to my husband for being the star of most of these photos haha
1. St. Paul Brewing | Saint Paul, MN

Ok. I get that shit is a brewery, but their patio is a work of art and their pizzas are actually fantastic, too.
I love how eclectic it is and all the little seating nooks providing separation and privacy for groups. You can watch a previous patio tour I’ve done below to get the full experience.
2. W.A Frost | Saint Paul, MN

This patio is well known and on so many lists, but you can’t be mad about it, because it is truthfully a little secret garden in St. Paul and their food is fantastic.
I highly recommend them for a weekend brunch!
3. Tamarack Tap Room | Woodbury, MN

We live in Woodbury so Tamarack Tap Room is one of our go-tos for food, but I love their patio because it is always full of flowers and right off a little pond which gives it an oasis feel in such a busy area.
4. Freight House | Stillwater, MN

The Freight House has a large patio right off the St. Croix River and is a go-to spot in Stillwater every summer. They also are one of the go-to places to dance at night.
Funnily enough, the best patio photo I could find was of me during my bachelorette party at like 11pm…further proof it is a great night spot haha.
Another great St. Croix River patio option if you’re willing to cross the border is Pier Five Hundred in Downtown Hudson, WI.
5. The Brickhouse | White Bear Lake

Being transparent, I’ve only been to Brickhouse once, because it is a little farther out than some of the other ones on the list, but I was blown away by their rooftop patio. Such a great space an the food was really good!
That’s my list of east side patios! Hope it helps you on your next adventure!
