As most of my friends know, my dream is to have someone write a Craigslist Missed Connection about me, so after seeing two missed connections happen at Spyhouse Coffee in Northeast, it naturally shot to the top of my “must go” list.

It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, everytime I drive by Spyhouse off of Broadway it’s packed, which is no surprise considering how delicious it is.

Atmosphere:

I was privileged to enjoy my coffee with my lovely friend, Jessica, pictured above. We ended up sitting on the porch (or should it be called a deck?) to enjoy what was possibly the last gorgeous Saturday afternoon of the summer. The deck/patio is set up with wood benches and picnic tables and fits in perfectly with the aesthetic.

Inside looks much like an old warehouse, which is fitting since it is in the old Land O Nod factory building. The ceilings are high and there is a lot of space.  While the left side appears to be the “social area,” the right side was like entering an apple store, because of all the people set up with their laptops. It’s clearly the perfect place to get some studying or work done.

To sum it up: imagine a coffee shop competing for a Pinterest award and you have the rustic/antique vibe of Spyhouse.

Service:

The barista was really friendly and the coffee was done really fast. 5 stars.

Drinks:

Both Jessica and I had an Iced Caramella. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but when I do drink coffee it tends to be the type full of whipped cream and caramel, which in effect makes it the same calorie consistency of a liquid dinner. No surprise that I ordered the one that sounded frappuccino-ish, right? Well it ended up tasting absolutely delicious and I was definitely not disappointed.

For the coffee purists and tea drinkers there are a variety of other, what I’m assuming are, delicious options.
