I’ve been sporting this smokey eye and red lipped look all Holiday Season and I’m obsessed. It’s taken me a few years to build up the courage to rock a red lip, but now that I’ve gone there, thanks to Milani Cosmetics, I’m never going back.
Eyes:
My love affair with Milani started with their Liquid Eye “Liquid-Like” Eye Liner. The reason I love it so much is that it has the same finish and wow factor as a liquid eyeliner, but it’s more controllable, because it’s in a retractable pencil. When the store I bought it at stopped carrying it, I immediately started buying it two at a time, online.
I recently added the Grandissimo Mascara for a full lash effect. While my eyelashes are pretty long and thick, it’s always challenging for me to get them to curl instead of jutting straight out. This mascara really helps and really helps make my eyes pop.
Cheeks:
I’ve had the Milani Baked Bronzer for a couple months and I love that it highlights my cheekbones, without looking too overkill. I’m also a fan of the Illuminating Face Powder in Hermosa Rose, which I just recently ran out of.
Lips:
I love the festive look of the True Red Lip Liner and Best Red Lipstick. The lipliner goes on so precisely with a little moisture to it so that it’s not completely like a pen on your lips. The lipstick is also really smooth and is matte, but has a little shine to it. It also stays on pretty well. I would suggest having it on hand for touchups if you were going out for a full night, though.
I have the Violet Volt and the Double Espresso in my shopping cart currently. I’ve been trying to pluck up the courage to try out these colors, but after falling so completely in love with the red, It’s safe to say that they’ll be en route to my apartment next week!
What I love about Milani as a company is that they have a line-up of vegan products and none of their make-up is tested on animals.
You can see my holiday look in action in the Third Annual Gazdik Christmas Caroling with my sister, Andrea. Every year we decide on a Christmas song for me to accompany her on an “instrument” of my choosing. We have a lot of fun and I hope it brings a smile to your face, like it does to ours.
Happy Christmas from Hipster Hack! I hope Santa brought you all what you were hoping for!
