John’s Pizza Cafe is my ultimate positive reinforcement. Before moving to Northeast I was a 5 year resident of St. Paul and customer of John’s. While I’ve never actually eaten at the store, I have been in there enough for takeout that I can assure you it has the pizza parlor vibe you’d expect; booths, pizza smell, and frosted red cups.
Food:
Being a pizza cafe, it’s safe to assume that they have delicious pizza and calzones, but I usually forgo those options for a hoagie. The Turkey Florentine is my jam; made with turkey, spinach, mozzarella, and topped with the real reason why I’m so obsessed with John’s; dill sauce.
I’m willing to admit that my love of their dill sauce is a little pathetic, but it’s also the whole reason I’ll drive 20 minutes to pick up a sandwich. It’s great as a topping on a sandwich, a chip dip, and would definitely taste just fine on a spoon.
Service:
The people who work there are super friendly and my takeout orders are usually ready within 10-15 minutes. They do also have online ordering if you’d rather not call in and they have a decent delivery area for a $2 upcharge.
In summary: If loving John’s is wrong, I never want to be right again.
