Even though I live in Minneapolis, I still drive all the way to A’Salonna in Stillwater, because I only trust Kelly to do my hair…luckily for me, I have family (Cecil & Noelle) in the area and they agreed to start an afternoon of “Saturday Funday” by meeting me and boyfriend for lunch and cocktails at Lolito Cantina!

Food:

Guacamole 

When we got there we actually realized it was Saturady Happy Hour, which was absolutely perfect for us, because between the 4 of us we polished off 2 of these guacamoles haha.

Happy Hour Tacos: Al Pastor, Brisket, and Mushroom

During Happy Hour they also had $5 tacos…I wanted to try a few so yes, I did order 3 and no I do not feel bad about it. I would say my least favorite was the mushroom, but it was still really delicious.

Aunt Becky Goes To Jail: Grapefruit, lemon, cava, compari and aperol

I’m obsessed with all of their snarky cocktail names. Kelly, when she found out we were headed that way, said I HAD to get the “Aunt Becky Goes to Jail.” Definitely glad I took her recommendation.

Service:

Luckily, Cecil and Noelle, got there before my hair appointment was done and were able to put our name in. It was one of those rare 60 degree weekends during Minnesota winter so of course everywhere in downtown Stillwater was packed. The great part is they put your name down and text you when your table is ready so we were actually able to head down the street to grab a cocktail at No Neck Tony’s while we waited.

Our server was great and the food and cocktails came out quickly. Exactly what you need when you’re trying to catch a buzz on Saturday Funday haha.

Atmosphere:

I’ve been in this spot so many times over the years. It’s changed hands and names quite a bit, but I think they’ve finally landed with a winning concept. The food and cocktails are delicious and they are using the space really well. I’ve always loved the downstairs, upstairs lounge combo and glad to see it’s still in tact.
