Hope Breakfast Bar has been on my list for years so I was very excited when it was suggested as the location for our girls brunch.
Snacks:
McHope Sandwich: Biscuit, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried egg, seasoned hash browns
It was hard to pick so I ended up getting the breakfast sandwich as well as splitting a waffle with the girls. The McHope was cooked to perfection and the biscuit was the perfect amount of crumble and toasted. My friend Nellie got this as well and liked it, too!
Fried Pickle Waffle: Hand breaded pickle spears, belgian waffle topped with jalapeño cream cheese syrup
I love fried pickles, but wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the fried pickle waffle so I was really glad when the girls said they’d split it with me so I didn’t have to fully commit. Verdict: The fried pickles were really good and worked with the combo of the waffle, but the jalapeno cream cheese syrup did throw me off.
Fried Chicken & Waffles: Boneless buttermilk-brined chicken, buttermilk or hemp heart waffle, jalapeño maple syrup
My friend Jenna got the Fried Chicken & Waffles and said it was really good. It was also HUGE.
Bourbon Smoked Salmon Toast: Raw smoked alaskan salmon, toasted everything bagel, pimento cream cheese, capers, pickled veggies
My friend Lisa got the smoked salmon at the recommendation of our server and really liked it. There was also a big portion of salmon.
Drinks:
West 7th Cereal Bowl: Rumchata and milk blended with captain crunch
When I saw this Captain Crunch cocktail on the menu I knew I had to try it. It basically tastes exactly like the milk at the end of the bowl…but with rumchata. So good, but really rich so one is definitely enough for me.
Espresso Martini: New amsterdam vodka, bailey’s, espresso, chocolate syrup
A common complaint I have about espresso martinis is that everyone claims theirs is one even if they aren’t using espresso. Rest assured this one is espresso forward.
Atmosphere/Service:
Service was great and we were seated right away for our reservation. Two tips:
- Make sure you have a reservation
- Show up a bit early to find parking!
Can’t wait to go again and bring husband so he can try the Pork Belly & Biscuit!
