2025 Minnesota Renaissance Festival

Minnesota Renaissance Festival 2025 Hipster Hack Food Review
Standard

As I said last year I LOVE a costume party and while the Minnesota Renaissance Festival may frustrate some that it has become more of a cosplay convention for anything fantasy or even just nerdy instead of a sole celebration of the Renaissance era, I personally love it. You never know what you’re going to see. One second you’re looking at someone in period costume, the next second you’re looking at someone dressed up like Where’s Waldo, Batman or Bermuda Merlin from “Sword in the Stone” (true story haha).

You can check out my review from last year for some other foods I really like that are still available, but I did a really good job this year of trying new foods!
Pro: I liked everything enough.
Con: I missed out on the soup in a bread bowl, but there was also no way I was eating hot soup in today’s heat.

2025 Food and Drink Review | Fargo, ND

Fargo North Dakota Food and Drink Review Hipster Hack Review

Every year in July my sister and I do a road trip and this year she agreed to go to Fargo, North Dakota with me so that I can cross that state off my list!

We were only in Fargo for about 24 hours so we made sure to hit a couple of the “sites” I found ahead of time and also found a couple places to try there by recommendation. Obviously, this is a very short list, but I thought it made sense to share since I do think this is a great amount of stuff for a quick visit or a great base for someone planning to be there longer!

Duluth Minnesota Best Food and Drink Spot Reviews Hipster Hack

Husband and I were planning a trip to Duluth, Minnesota, but we only had about 36 hours to spend, so I went on a mission to find some of the best rated breweries, distilleries and city spots to check out.

We didn’t make it everywhere, but truthfully you can only eat and drink so much in such a short amount of time haha so below I’m sharing the spots we went (spoiler alert, I would recommend every single one of them).

Minnesota Renaissance Festival 2024 Hipster Hack Food Review

I love a theme party and the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is the biggest costume party of the year! The theme is “renaissance” but within 5 minutes of being inside the gates you’ll see that the dress code isn’t universal; medieval, vikings, cottage core, witches, Zelda, Lord of the Rings characters, Dr. Who, Mario Kart, you name it – the gangs all here!

2024 Food Truck Extravaganza | Stillwater, MN

2024 Food Truck Festival Stillwater Minnesota Hipster Hack Blog

Last Saturday we attended the annual Food Truck Extravaganza held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Stillwater, Minnesota – even the rain couldn’t keep us away! This was our 2nd time attending – our first time was 2 years ago – and I can definitely say the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce upped their game!

My only critique is that it costs $10 per adult to get in and there isn’t really much to do other than buy food at the trucks or buy beer and sit and listen to live music so it’s not exactly a cost effective day, but for someone like me who’s happiest grazing and trying as much as I can it’s definitely worth it!

Eli’s Food And Cocktails – East | NE Minneapolis

Eli's Food and Cocktails
Standard

Eli’s Food And Cocktails East location was the best midnight food decision we’ve made in a long time for two main reasons; the place had about 10 people in it, which meant instant service (not surprising since this is a lounge set up and it was midnight on a Saturday), and the full kitchen stays open until 1am.

Food:

Eli's East

I had the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted in my life: Turkey & Brie sandwich which comes with assorted greens, apples, and a delicious smoked paprika aioli. I had mine on gluten-free bread which only cost $1 extra, which is actually really cheap compared to most places who have gluten free options. I wish I would have taken a photo to instagram it’s deliciousness (UPDATE: Photo has been added from a follow up research mission…), but as I said it was 1am and we had other things on our mind…like an attempted crowd sing-a-long to “Build Me Up Buttercup…” Evidence below: Continue reading
