Keeping up the tradition of the last couple years I wanted to share 12 of my favorite foods of 2025. This year, due to my husband and I buying a house we did a lot less eating out, but it was still hard to pick just 12 dishes. So without further ado, sharing in no particular order…

yum! Kitchen and Bakery | Woodbury, MN
StandardYes, it has taken my this long to go to yum! in Woodbury. No, I’m not proud of it. Yes, it was really good.
Continue reading2025 Minnesota Renaissance Festival
StandardAs I said last year I LOVE a costume party and while the Minnesota Renaissance Festival may frustrate some that it has become more of a cosplay convention for anything fantasy or even just nerdy instead of a sole celebration of the Renaissance era, I personally love it. You never know what you’re going to see. One second you’re looking at someone in period costume, the next second you’re looking at someone dressed up like Where’s Waldo, Batman or Bermuda Merlin from “Sword in the Stone” (true story haha).
You can check out my review from last year for some other foods I really like that are still available, but I did a really good job this year of trying new foods!
Pro: I liked everything enough.
Con: I missed out on the soup in a bread bowl, but there was also no way I was eating hot soup in today’s heat.
Liliana | Woodbury, MN
StandardWhen we found out Liliana was opening in our current city (Woodbury), we were very excited, because we’re big fans of their other restaurant Estelle but have only made it there a couple times. The food at Liliana did not disappoint.
Continue readingTanzenwald Brewing Company | Northfield, MN
StandardWe had girls lunch at Tanzenwald Brewing Company in early July, which means, yes, this review is coming a month late but it’s been a busy summer so you’ll have to forgive me!
Continue readingMinnesota State Fair Foods 2025 | Saint Paul, MN
StandardWe normally go to the Minnesota State Fair with at least a couple other people, but we decided to take a day off and go on the first Friday this year, which meant we were solo for the majority of our time minus a friend meet with some beverages. Being there over lunch and dinner did help us pace and we still fit in as many foods as our stomachs could handle!
My 2025 Stats: 5 Hours. 7 Foods. 5 Beverages. 11,500 Steps.
Get the breakdown below and let me know what foods you tried and/or plan to try this year!
Continue readingMi Pueblo | Stillwater, MN
StandardMy family was trying to find a place to grab lunch and my sister and I had just driven by Mi Pueblo and realized they were open now so we decided that’s where we should all go – we ended up very happy with our choice!
Mi Pueblo is located in a space where a few restaurants have been in over time, but I was really impressed with the interior and food.
Continue readingXelas by El Sazon | Stillwater, MN
StandardXelas has been open in Stillwater for a while so when my sister suggested it for dinner I was pumped to finally get to try it out.
The original restaurant, El Sazon, is located inside a BP Gas Station in Eagan and I have been hearing about how great it is for years, so I was very excited when they opened this larger location; Xelas by El Sazon in Stillwater. As far as I can remember, I haven’t had Mayan cuisine before, and not to ruin the review but you should just know up front it was delicious.
Continue reading2025 Food and Drink Review | Fargo, ND
StandardEvery year in July my sister and I do a road trip and this year she agreed to go to Fargo, North Dakota with me so that I can cross that state off my list!
We were only in Fargo for about 24 hours so we made sure to hit a couple of the “sites” I found ahead of time and also found a couple places to try there by recommendation. Obviously, this is a very short list, but I thought it made sense to share since I do think this is a great amount of stuff for a quick visit or a great base for someone planning to be there longer!
Continue readingPanda Fest Twin Cities | Bloomington, MN
StandardI found out about Panda Fest about a month ago and immediately scooped up tickets for me and husband to go the weekend before our birthdays – food outings are sort of our tradition since we both love trying new things/places.
Panda Fest is happening until tomorrow, July 13th and it is currently sold out, but it looked like they were selling limited tickets at the gate and online some people are reselling if they can’t go so if you’re interested there is still time!
Read through to check out all the food items we tried and get my honest review about the experience.
