My boyfriend lives in Woodbury so Duck Donuts has become this mystical place that we keep seeing, but because it closes by 7pm most days of the week, had never been.
Happy to report that I finally made it!
Food:
Donut 1: “S’mores Donut.” Chocolate icing with graham cracker crumbs and marshmallow drizzle
Donut 2: Chocolate icing, marshmallow drizzle, and toffee crumbles
Donut 3: Blueberry icing with powdered sugar
Their donuts are made to order, so you don’t get the instant gratification of a Glam Doll Donuts or a Voodoo Doughnut (yummmm) where you can shop with your eyes. Instead, you can use your imagination to pick out the flavors or use their suggested flavors. The cake donuts were good, but I did miss the larger variety of other donut shops.
Drinks:
I asked for an iced latte and when they asked me if I wanted anything in it, I said, sure, caramel would be great! This is what was brought to me…a very aggressive amount of caramel. Sure it looked pretty, but half of the drink was caramel and I was unable to drink it.
Service/Atmosphere:
The shop is cute and the people were friendly, but I just missed the overall feel of a donut shop.
The donuts were good and were a little less than $2 a piece, so not horrible. For people excited to try their own flavor combinations this is the perfect place for you.
