Sooooooo there’s a speakeasy in Eagan. Yeah, seriously, in EAGAN. My mind was blown, too. When we saw it on google maps we didn’t believe it was true and originally thought we were mistaken or that it had gone out of business because when we pulled up the restaurant said Burgers & Bottles, but low and behold, when we walked in we were directed to the red door and Volstead House Whiskey Bar + Speakeasy beyond.

Full disclosure: we actually ended up going back a second time on the following Sunday, because the bartender let us know it was half off pours so this Hipster Hack actually covers two visits and we are not, in fact, giant lushes haha.

I very much thought Saint Dinette would be a French restaurant so it’s safe to say I was confused when I looked at the menu online. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t turned off by it’s lack of French fair, but more intrigued about it’s eclectic menu that, to be honest, doesn’t seem super cohesive to me on paper, but the the flavors were fantastic.

When my friend suggested All Saints for our monthly friendship dinner I was excited, because 1. it meant I got to go back to my beloved Northeast and 2. I hadn’t even heard of it yet!

Their approach is “giving vegetables the same center of the plate treatment as meat, while still sharing the spotlight.” We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, which is definitely the right way to do this.
