Union Hmong Kitchen | Minneapolis, MN

This isn’t my first time at Graze in the North Loop, but this was the first time I went with a mission in mind. The mission – try Union Hmong Kitchen.

I really wanted to get to their stand during the Minnesota State Fair, but the line was WRAPPING around the corner so I made a promise to myself then that I’d get there this year – and I did!

Nicollet Island Inn | Northeast Minneapolis

Nicollet Island Inn NE Minneapolis

I’ve been lucky to be able to get out of town pretty much all summer by visiting my parent’s lake home, but much like everyone else, I’ve been missing my friends a lot during social distancing. So when the stars aligned and Mikayla and I were both in town on Friday night I was beyond thrilled to have plans with someone else besides my boyfriend’s demon cat haha.

It was a beautiful day so I was excited when Mikayla suggested we go to Nicollet Island Inn, especially since I had never been!

Hello Hipster Hack followers, I’m Ashley and you may remember me from my many, many appearances here since I am Tara’s biggest supporter, and a fellow food lover. (Although I’m the sister that enjoys creating fun foods, while Tara’s the one that enjoys traveling to find it). Continue reading

I love the vibe at Parlour Bar and in fact have been to both the Minneapolis and the Saint Paul locations for cocktails. However, it was becoming quite apparent that I’ve been doing myself a disservice by not having ever eaten their burger. there.

Graze Provisions + Libations| North Loop Minneapolis

I was so excited to hear that there was another food hall that opened and that this one was in the North Loop and the perfect distance for an after work dinner! Graze Provisions + Libations has some super cute outdoor spaces that I’m excited to try when it’s not subzero temps and has quite a bit of sections of seating; sitting areas, private dining tables, hi tops, bar seating, and family style dining. Basically any vibe you’re looking for you can find.

They have a couple bars areas and also Honey & Rye where you can get some bakery items or coffee, but we’re going to focus on the food!

Working downtown means getting to enjoy lunch menus of places that may be a little too pricey for a normal dinner…like Monte Carlo. Fun fact: I had actually just broken my iphone the night before we went to lunch so my boss used his to take these photos instead haha. THAT is the epitome of a supportive job 🙂

George and the Dragon | Minneapolis

George and the Dragon Minneapolis
Standard

This is my first George and the Dragon Hipster Hack, but it’s my third experience there. The first time was based off a suggestion a coworker gave me when my (now) boyfriend was forcing me to pick out where we were going to go to dinner on one of our first official dates.  Unfortunately, the wait was over an hour so we went elsewhere. We did end up going a couple weeks later, but back then I was still trying a bit and didn’t want to whip out my camera and take pictures of all the food just yet haha, so I’m excited to say that not only did I take pictures of my food this time, but when the appetizer arrived, boyfriend pushed the plate over to me, “get your picture so we can eat.” hahahaha. Trained.

I am obsessed with Tattersall Distiling in NE Minneapolis and cannot believe I have never written a full on review of them considering it is probably the place I most frequently recommend to people when they ask me where they should check out in Northeast. It is time to right that wrong. Continue reading
