I previously reviewed Brick & Bourbon back in 2020, but we recently went for date night so it felt like a good time to refresh!

Olive & Lamb | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardLast Friday I had a Northeast Minneapolis girls night with some friends starting with dinner at Olive & Lamb and ending at some of the local Northeast establishments for cocktails.
This was my first time eating at Olive & Lamb and actually gave me a strong sense of nostalgia as I used to live a few blocks from that building and had been there for lunch when it was a deli…I miss that neighborhood!
Continue readingNeon Brush | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardI know this isn’t food related, but I wanted to share about this cool event I recently attended on a Saturday morning with a couple friends – Neon Brush Experience.
Continue readingMinari | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardMy friend Mikayla invited me along to her girl’s night dinner at Minari and I was ecstatic, because on top of it’s only been open a short while and already having heard such amazing things, it’s gives me great joy to head back to my old Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood.
I’m happy to report that this trip was well worth it.
Continue readingHai Hai | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardI have a Hipster Hack for Hai Hai from back when they opened so an updated one was long overdue. I’d still suggest reading the original Hipster Hack if you want to learn why it’s called Hai Hai, which means 22 in Vietnamese!
Continue readingAll Saints | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardWhen my friend suggested All Saints for our monthly friendship dinner I was excited, because 1. it meant I got to go back to my beloved Northeast and 2. I hadn’t even heard of it yet!
Their approach is “giving vegetables the same center of the plate treatment as meat, while still sharing the spotlight.” We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, which is definitely the right way to do this.
Continue readingSpoon and Stable | Minneapolis, MN
StandardWe’ve been to Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis, Minnesota only once before, which is crazy, because Chef Gavin Kaysen is a personal hero of my husband’s, so much so that he just bought his cook book and already read through every recipe.
Both times the food was absolutely amazing and the service was great. The first time we went it was a 2.5 hour dining experience, this time the service was a little more efficient and we were out of there in about 90 minutes, but then again, our first visit was a weeknight and this visit was 7pm on a Saturday night.
Continue readingSTEPCHLD | Northeast Minneapolis, MN
StandardI’ve been wanting to try STEPCHLD for a while so I was excited when I was able to make dinner plans with my friend to check it out.
I miss living in Northeast Minneapolis so much and it’s places like this that are why.
Continue readingNicollet Island Inn | Northeast Minneapolis
StandardI’ve been lucky to be able to get out of town pretty much all summer by visiting my parent’s lake home, but much like everyone else, I’ve been missing my friends a lot during social distancing. So when the stars aligned and Mikayla and I were both in town on Friday night I was beyond thrilled to have plans with someone else besides my boyfriend’s demon cat haha.
It was a beautiful day so I was excited when Mikayla suggested we go to Nicollet Island Inn, especially since I had never been!
Best Cheese Curds In Minnesota | National Cheese Curd Day
StandardToday is a day that will live in infamy..annually. Cheese is life and there is literally no food I love more than cheese curds. I probably have reviewed or took photos of cheese curds more than anything else in the history of Hipster Hack so I am going to properly document National Cheese Curd Day by sharing them all in one post for your viewing (and drooling) pleasure.
