Best Cheese Curds In Minnesota | National Cheese Curd Day

Pat's Tap Minneapolis

Today is a day that will live in infamy..annually. Cheese is life and there is literally no food I love more than cheese curds. I probably have reviewed or took photos of cheese curds more than anything else in the history of Hipster Hack so I am going to properly document National Cheese Curd Day by sharing them all in one post for your viewing (and drooling) pleasure.

National Cheese Curd Day:

The Mill NE: Faribault Caveman Cheese Curds with Beet & Beef Ketchup

“The Mill’s brunch is pretty well known in Northeast, for good reason. We started off with the most amazingly breaded Faribault Caveman Cheese Curds with beet and beef ketchup. I’m obsessed with beet ketchup, because it has this delightful earth tang, without being too much. I didn’t really have any specific beef flavor, though.” – The Mill NE

Jalapeno Cheese Curds Burger Dive Tony Jaros Northeast

Burger Dive NE: Jalapeno Cheese Curds

“These added a little heat, but it wasn’t too much for my weak “Minnesota Hot” taste buds. I would probably skip these next time and try one of the other apps instead, but cheese is always my default.” – Burger Dive NE

Cheese Curds Minnesota State Fair

Kropp’s Titletown Cheese Curds

“I will likely never get over that the best cheese curds at the Minnesota State Fair are made from Wisconsin cheese haha, but these are the literal best ones. Not Mouse Trap. Not the Cheese Curd stand that has been closed down, these ones.” – Minnesota State Fair

Agave Kitchen: Battered Mozzarella

Technically not cheese curds (which they also make bomb ones). – Agave Kitchen

Pat's Tap Minneapolis

Pat’s Tap: Ellsworth Cheese Curds with Spiced Ketchup

“As for other items I’ve ordered there, I would like to point out that on the homepage of their website it proudly states, “Drive Fast. Take Chances. Eat Cheese Curds.” You will want to take this advice. It does not matter what time of day I am there, because I order their cheese curds everytime. They are made with Ellsworth Creamery Cheese Curds which are the ones they serve at the Minnesota State Fair and their spiced ketchup is delicious.” – Pat’s Tap

MouseTrap: Cheese Curds

“The cheesecurd is another midwest staple and go-to fair food. I’ve never been disappointed ordering these. Never.” – Minnesota State Fair

Freehouse: Cheese Curds with Apple Sauce and Quince Jam

“If the place serves cheese curds, it’s probable I’m a fan. These cheese curds, however, definitely stand alone. With a modern twist on beer-battered, these nuggets of gold are battered in hard cider. Served with apple sauce and quince jam, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.” – Freehouse

Bulldog Lowertown: Ellsworth Cheese Curds

“I also made the impulse decision to tack on an order of the Ellsworth Cheese Curds that the Lowertown location offers. This is a decision I do not regret, nor do any of my friends.” – Bulldog Lowertown

Stanley’s NE: Cheese Curds with Spicy Ketchup

“What I love most about Northeast food is the bar food with a twist. At Stanley’s it was cheese curds served with spicy ketchup and sweet potato fries served with chipotle mayo. Delicious and just different enough to make it feel like a special night out!” – Stanley’s NE

There you have it. Every cheese curd I have reviewed for Hipster Hack…pretty glad this isn’t an actual list of every cheese curd I’ve ever consumed, because that would be a little too telling about my eating habits….haha
